A few years ago, Brooklyn artist Jonathan Brand sold a 1969 Ford Mustang he rebuilt with his father to pay for an engagement ring. In his latest work, entitled "One Piece at a Time," he's getting it back by reconstructing that Mustang, piece by piece, at 1:1 scale.

Mercedes-Benz never put the 1954 300 SLR "Uhlenhaut Coupe" into production, and the only two examples ever built are locked in its museum. But a trio of German artists will sell you this: a statue of the 300SLR made from 10,000 pieces of scrap metal.
